Conference to educate citizens about meth dangers
MANCHESTER (04-02-2008) – What you don’t know about methamphetamine can kill you. To help educate citizens about the dangers, a methamphetamine awareness conference for all citizens will be held at the Manchester City Hall starting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 17. Because of the nature of the discussion, no one under age 18 will be admitted.
Grants available for HOFNOD program
The Future Fisherman Foundation, in partnership with the Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation, are excited to announce the availability of funds for the 2008-09 school year for K-12 school-based fishing and boating programs through the Physh Ed National Fishing and Boating grants initiative.

LONDON (05-21-2007) – The third annual golf scramble to benefit Lifeline of East Kentucky will be held on Friday, June 29, at the Crooked Creek Golf Club in London.
KASPER overview planned in Floyd County
PRESTONSBURG (02-16-2007) – A free educational program on the state’s KASPER (Kentucky All Schedule Prescription Electronic Reporting) program will be held in Prestonsburg on Monday, March 12.
Martin County to hold drug awareness program
A free program to educate members of the public about substance abuse in Martin County will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, February 12.
Free concerts to raise awareness about drugs
MIDDLESBORO (01-19-2007) – Local heavy metal bands will perform a free “Band Together Against Drugs” concert on Friday, January 26.
Lee teams take top spots in UNITE U8 Soccer Tournament
JACKSON (11-9-2006) – Two teams from Lee County captured the top spots in the second Operation UNITE U8 Soccer Tournament held Saturday, November 4, at Douthitt Park in Breathitt County.
