Drugs of Abuse

"Strawberry Quick"
A new form of crystalized methamphetamine that is targeted at children has started to appear in this part of the United States. They are calling this new form of meth "Strawberry Quick" and it looks like the "Pop Rocks" candy that sizzle in your mouth. In it's current form, it is dark pink in color and has a strawberry scent to it.

Please advise your children and their friends not to accept candy from strangers as this is obviously an attempt to seduce children into drug use. They also need to be cautious in accepting candy from even friends that may have received it from someone else, thinking it is just candy.

Cheese: The New Heroin
The new face of heroin is called "cheese." Made by combining black tar heroin with Tylenol PM or its generic, this drug is highly addictive and very dangerous. The powder is usually snorted and can be purchased for as little as $2 a dose.

Learn more about this drug through a PowerPoint created in February 2007 by the Dallas Police Department. Download.
