2008 Activities
Friday, February 15 - Reformers Unanimous celebrated its first anniversary with a homecoming event in the gym at Oak Hill Baptist Church in Somerset. Food was provided for this relaxed evening in fellowship, special singing, and listening to a few testimonials of what God is presently doing in the group.
Friday, January 4 - A panel of professionals attended the Pulaski County High UNITE Club meeting. Each participant answered questions from club members about positive and negative trends observed in youth drug and alcohol abuse, long-term effects, ways to counter youth drug and alcohol use, and how students can be part of the solution. Those participating in the program, organized by Pam Cate, were Judge Katie Wood, Pulaski Sheriff Todd Wood, Somerset Acting Police Chief Doug Nelson, and Eubank Baptist Church Youth Minister Ryan Coffey.

2007 Activities
Sunday, December 30 - An end of the year bash was held at Eagle Heights Church. Approximately 80 youth enjoyed seven hours of safe and drug-free fun. The speaker was well received, and the teens asked lots of questions.
Friday, December 7 - A U-Night concert for teens was held at the Somerset Christian School Auditorium in Pulaski County. Members of the Lincoln-Rockcastle-Pulaski Juvenile Drug Court program assisted.

Monday, October 26 - Officers and members of the Pulaski County High School UNITE Club presented a program to third grade students at Shopville Elementary and 5th grade students at Pulaski Elementary during Red Ribbon Week. For more details and to view photos click here.
Thursday, October 18 - A MADD assembly for freshmen and sophomores was conducted at Pulaski County High School. The school was one of 20 in the state chosen for this assembly. Students attending loved the anti-drug message and complimented the use of modern characters from recent movies to retain their attention. The event was organized by club sponsor Pam Cate.
Monday, October 8 - The Medical Advisory Committee met immediately following the coalition's monthly meeting at Rocky Hollow Park. For information contact Cathy Epperson at 606-679-4782 or cepperson@adanta.org.
Friday, September 28 - Cathy Epperson, chair of the coalition's Medical Advisory Committee, spoke to the Pulaski Medical Office Manager's at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital regarding UNITE, its mission, and resources available.
Thursday, September 27 - A Substance Abuse Recovery Rally was conducted on the Downtown Square in Somerset. For details click here. For photos click here.
Tuesday, September 11 - A community wide celebration of the American Soldier and Drug Awareness program was held at Reno's restaurant in Burnside. This event, held in conjunction with the Kentucky National Guard, included a Black Hawk helicopter demonstration and guest speakers from Operation UNITE.

Monday, September 10 - The Pulaski County Medical Advisory Committee met following the monthly coalition meeting at Rocky Hollow. For details contact Cathy Epperson at 606-679-4782 or cepperson@adanta.org.
Thursday, September 6 - A proclamation signing ceremony to recognize National Recovery Month in Pulaski County was conducted at the Pulaski County Circuit Courtroom. Circuit Judge Jeffrey T. Burdett, Circuit Judge David Tapp, District Judge Kathryn Wood, District Judge Scott Lawless, and County Judge-Executive Barty Bullock participated in the event.

Monday, September 3 - Operation UNITE was a sponsor for SHOUTFEST, a free day of Christian artists headlined by Jeremy Camp. Event took take place at SomerSport Park.
Thursday, July 26 - General information about UNITE and methamphetamine was presented to morning Rotary Club members at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital conference room.

Monday, July 9 - A discussion about projects and events to be conducted during the remainder of 2007 was held during the monthly coalition meeting at Rocky Hollow Recreation Center.

Monday, April 16 - Former University of Kentucky basketball great Jeff Sheppard presented an anti-drug program at Shopville Elementary School.
Thursday, March 29 - Pulaski County Drug Court held graduation ceremonies for two participants.

Monday, January 29 - Former UK basketball star Jeff Sheppard gave anti-drug presentations to students at Pulaski Elementary, Pulaski Central, and Nancy Elementary. Sheppard challenged students to DREAM - Do things the right way, be Ready every day to give yourself the best chance, devote Energy to things that count the most, chools a winning Attitude, and set your Mind to believe in yourself. Saturday, January 13 - "Feel the Power" activity for youth in grades 6-12 at the First United Methodist Church in Somerset included free pizza, live music and testimony by local youth who have struggled with drug addiction. For details click here.

Thursday, September 28 - A community rally celebrating recovery was held on the downtown square in Somerset. The event drew around 75 people and included a presentation by John Bales, who has turned his life around since beating his addiction. For details click here.

Tuesday, April 25 Kentucky ASAP presented a Community Drug Abuse and Underage Drinking Forum at The Center for Rural Development in Somerset featuring Kentucky First Lady Glenna Fletcher as the keynote speaker.
Friday-Saturday, April 21-22 UNITE Clubs lock-in at the Blakley Family YMCA. Event featured drug information speakers for both parents and students, information about UNITE Clubs, a variety of sporting activities and games.
Thursday, March 16 Prescription Drug Awareness program presented to the Scarlett OHatters. Co-sponsored by the Pulaski coalition and Adanta Regional Prevention Center.
