Thursday, November 29 - The McCreary County Juvenile Drug Court program held a graduation ceremony at the county courthouse.

Sunday, November 4 - A McCreary County "Unity Prayer March" was held at the McCreary Central High School track. All citizens and churches were invited to participate to raise awareness about, and involvement in the fight against substance abuse. Speakers included UNITE President/CEO Karen Engle and Pastor Doug Abner from Clay County. For details contact Tracey Skinner at 606-376-2322.
Saturday, October 20 - Pine Knot Primary's Bear Cubs UNITE Club and Family Resource Center held a free community drug awareness event druring the Red Maple Festival at Pine Knot Primary School. Event included inflatables, car show, pig roast and arts and crafts.
Wednesday, October 17 - Sheriff Gus Skinner attended the Pine Knot Primary UNITE Club meeting where students signed an anti-drug Red Ribbon Week pledge. For pictures click here.
Thursday, October 4 - Second UNITE Bowl football game featuring McCreary Central and Rockcastle County High Schools in Mt. Vernon. Special half-time program recognized UNITE Clubs and included a Punt-Pass-Kick competition and balloon launch. Anti-drug messages were presented throughout the game by both the Rockcastle and McCreary UNITE Coalitions.

Wednesday, September 5 - The McCreary County Juvenile Drug Court held a graduation ceremony which was followed by participants challenging the Drug Court Team to a softball game.

Thursday, June 7 - UNITE Shoot Hoops Not Drugs basketball camp featuring former UK basketball star Jeff Sheppard was held at the Lord's Gym in Whitley City. Every child will receive a free basketball and T-shirt. For details click here.

2006 Activities
Wednesday, December 6 - Pine Knot Primary Bear Cubs UNITE Club visited the Cumberland Inn Museum and enjoyed a presentation and lunch at the Athenaeum Restaurant. Club members received literature and information on living a drug-free life. Students toured displays of specimens ranging from the petite short-tailed shrew to the gigantic polar bear. Among the Cumberland College archives were several stamp, coin, arrowhead and nutcracker collections, along with the Carl Williams cross collection and Blair's Christmas Land. UNITE Substance Abuse Counselor Sunshine Canada and School Resource Officer Mike Neal attended the trip. To view pictures click here.
Monday, November 27 through Thursday, December 14 - McCreary Central Academy UNITE Club held a canned food drive for the holiday season. All items donated were given to the McCreary Christian Care Center.
Saturday, November 25 - McCreary County Juvenile Drug Court Adopt-A-Highway cleanup.
Friday, November 17 - McCreary County Juvenile Drug Court held a graduation ceremony in the District Courtroom.
Friday, November 10 - Pine Knot Primary School's Bear Cubs UNITE Club held a "True to the Red, White & Blue" anti-drug dance in the school gym. More than 300 students and parents attended. Monday, November 6 through Friday, December 1 - McCreary Central Academy collected stuffed animals for "Operation Christmas Bear." The animals were donated to the McCreary County Community Center and two nursing homes in the county for needy children and the elderly during the holiday season.

Saturday, October 21 - Pine Knot Primary School's Bear Cub UNITE Club held a community drug awareness event during the Red Maple Festival. The community enjoyed a pig roast, car show, lawn mower races, live music, clogging, arts and crafts, pretty pooch contest, bubble gum blowing contest, inflatables and various games. Thursday, June 8 - A Neighbors UNITED presentation was given to approximately 20 members of the county's community watch organizations at the Pine Knot Volunteer Fire Department.

Saturday, May 6 – “Get In The Game, Be Drug Free” presentation by Jeff Sheppard at the McCreary County Little League.
Saturday, April 15 – Members of the Whitley/McCreary Circuit Drug Court participated in a PRIDE cleanup at Noe’s Dock in Whitley County.
Monday, May 1 – UNITE coalition networking reception at The Center for Rural Development in Somerset, Pulaski County, for Lake Cumberland coalitions. One of five regional receptions.

March 27-30 – “Drugs Are Garbage” trash can decorating contest by the UNITE Club.
March 20-24 – UNITE Club Anti-Drug Awareness Week activities.
March 13-17 – UNITE Club mentoring program at Whitley City Elementary and Pine Knot Intermediate schools.
March 6-10 – UNITE Club “Why I Say No To Drugs!” essay contest.
February 27-March 3 –McCreary County’s UNITE Club held an anti-drug message door decorating contest. A total of 17 doors were decorated, with the winners receiving a free breakfast at Arby’s. To view pictures click here.
