Tuesday, May 8 - The Harlan County Drug Court held a graduation ceremony at the Harlan County Justice Center, 129 South First Street, Harlan.
Monday, April 16 - A Pre-Prom Spring Fling Party for area high school students was held at the Harlan Civic Center in downtown Harlan. Appxoximately 300 students participated.

Saturday, April 14 - "Take Me Fishing" Hooked On Fishing-Not On Drugs event at Martins Fork Lake at Smith. The program affected approximately 35 people from the community.

Tuesday, April 10 - An overview of UNITE was presented to churches in Harlan County at the Harlan Civic Center.
Tuesday, March 20 - Community meeting for residents of the Benham-Lynch-Cumberland areas of Harlan County at the Cumberland Pentecostal Church to follow-up to the Operation Hot Spot roundup of drug dealers on March 2. For information call 1-866-90-UNITE (1-866-908-6483).
Thursday, March 8 - A coalition membership drive was held at Evarts High School to recruit new members from that part of the county. Approximately 60 people attended, including a good representation from law enforcement and elected officials. Door prizes were given out and SouthEast Telephone provided water and a big UK basket. Monday, March 7 - Former UK basketball star Jeff Sheppard give an anti-drug presentation to students at Harlan Independent Elementary.
Tuesday, February 27 - Harlan County UNITE Coalition community meeting at Evarts High School.
Tuesday, February 27 - Drug Prevention Day and Free Health Fair, sponsored by Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College Harlan Campus, featured drug awareness and prevention speakers and information, blood pressure checks, hearing test, eye exams, TB skin test and nutrition information along with a free lunch.
Monday, January 22 - A membership drive was conducted by the SKCTC Cumberland Campus UNITE Coalition in the grill area. Subway sandwiches, chips and drinks were be provided. For information contact Veria Baker, director of admissions, at 606-589-2145 x13018.
2006 Events
Sunday, December 31 - A New Year's Eve celebration was held at the James A. Cawood High School gym for children in grades 6 and above. This free event featured speakers, the contemporary Christian rock bands "Malachi" and "Altar Call," along with refreshments, prizes, games and fellowship. Sponsors were the Loyall Youth Ministerial Association and Harlan County UNITE Coalition.
Tuesday, December 12 - Harlan County UNITE Coalition meeting in the vocational rehabilitation office professional building to discuss the drug problem in the community and what can be done.
Monday, November 20 - Drug prevention and awareness presentation to students, faculty and staff in the SKCTC Harlan Campus theatre.

Sunday, September 17 - Walk for Alcohol and Drug Recovery Addiction, 2 p.m. starting at the Cumberland Missionary Baptist Church.

Thursday, August 24 - "How To Keep Your Kids Off Drugs" presentation at the Union Baptist Church.
Saturday, August 19 – HOFNOD event, 10 a.m. at the Evarts Fish & Game Club (Louellen Lake).
Saturday, August 12 - Free "Movie In The Park" at Huff Park was rained out Friday and rescheduled to the following night. Approximately 15 families participated in the games, food and fun. The event provided time for togetherness.
Thursday, August 3 - Neighbors UNITED kickoff at Verda Baptist Church.
Sunday, July 30 - UNITE and the faith-based community presentation to the congregation of Harlan Methodist Church.

Tuesday, June 13 – Regional Shoot Hoops Not Drugs Basketball Camp with Jeff Sheppard at Cawood High School was attended by 96 youth from Bell and Harlan counties in Kentucky, plus Tennessee and West Virginia. For details click here.

Saturday, April 29 – Pick Your Candidate picnic conducted at Huff Park complete with music and food.
Monday, April 24 – UNITE coalition networking reception at Hazard Community and Technical College, Perry County, for the Kentucky River coalitions. One of five regional receptions.
Monday, April 17 – SEKCTC Cumberland Campus conducted a Spring Fling involving approximately 20 coalition members who had personal contact with 185 students, faculty, staff and community people. The group handed out brochures and flying discs with the saying, “Fly High on Life: Say NO to Drugs.”
Saturday, April 8 – A HOFNOD spring fish-off event was conducted at Martins Fork Lake following the spring cleanup.
Saturday, April 1 -- HOFNOD spring fish-off events were conducted at the Evarts Fish & Game Club (Louellen Lake) and at Kingdom Come State Park. Approximately 40 attended the event at Louellen Lake and approximately 200 came to the state park.
Monday, March 6 – Jeff Sheppard anti-drug rallies at Green Hills Elementary, Cawood Elementary, Harlan Independent and James A. Crawford High schools.
Wednesday, March 1 – Henry Hughes presented the video “Meth is Death” to Cookie Baker’s business class at SKCTC Cumberland Campus. To view pictures click here.
Friday, February 17 - A dance was held for more than 250 youth. They had an opportunity to take part in a fun, drug-free activity.
Tuesday, February 14 – The Cumberland Campus held a “Keep Your Heart Beating – Say NO To Drugs” welcome back event where members made give-away bags filled with candy. Brochures on drug abuse were available for students, faculty and staff. Approximately 150 people visited the table to collect information and discuss the issue of drug abuse at the college.
