2007 Activities
Friday, May 4 - A Drug Endangered Children (DEC) Network training class was held at the Carl Perkins Center in Morehead for coalitions in UNITE’s Gateway service region. The training provided details on how to deal with issues related to children who come from homes where drugs are present.
Monday, April 23 - Former University of Kentucky basketball great Jeff Sheppard presented an anti-drug program at Bath County Middle School.
Thursday, March 22 - Nearly 500 players, coaches, parents and other family members attended the awards banquet at Bath County High on March 22. For story click here. For pictures click here.
2006 Activities
Monday, November 6 - Former UK basketball star Jeff Sheppard presented anti-drug presentations to Salt Lick Elemenetary, Owingsville Elementary, and Bethel Elementary schools.
Saturday, October 21 - Approximately 50 people attended a coalition recruitment drive dinner at the Bath County Agriculture building. The UNITE video "Together We Shall" was presented along with a presentation by former addict Malanda Adams. Coalition advisory board chairman Pastor Roanld Beams was on on hand to answer questions and distribute prevention and awareness information. Saturday, July 29 - Free Shoot Hoops Not Drugs regional basketball camp with Jeff Sheppard at Morehead State University. Camp was attended by 114 participants from 10 Kentucky counties plus one from Ohio. To view photos click here.
Tuesday, April 25 -- UNITE coalition networking reception at the Old Government Building in West Liberty for Gateway coalitions. One of five regional receptions.
