Operation UNITE : Unlawful Narcotics Investigation Treatment and Education
Business Involvement
The business community has a very real interest in becoming involved with efforts to curb the drug epidemic -- it affects their bottom line. When an employee is addicted there is more often than not going to be a loss of productivity. Then there is the very real concern about safety issues created by a person’s reduced capacity to perform normally and with a clear head. There will also be a detrimental impact upon the culture of your workforce. Businesses should also be concerned if an employee has a family member who is addicted. The devastation that results from having to cope with this crisis can directly affect their ability to perform job duties.
There are many ways businesses can enter the fight against drugs:
Donate an employee to serve on a local UNITE coalition for 8 hours each month.
Support local coalition efforts by encouraging all employees to become involved.
Support Drug Court programs by sponsoring a graduate.
