Upcoming Events

Event: "Prayer for Improvement" Service
Date: Sunday, October 14, 2007
Time: 3 p.m.
Location: Jackson County Area Technology Center
Cost: Free
Sponsor: Jackson County High School UNITE Club and Jackson County High School Bible Club
Description:

The entire community is invited to this special countywide service to discuss, learn about, and pray for several topics that will have an important impact on the future of our community.

Topics of discussion and prayer will include: 1) The drug situation; 2) Upcoming elections (state and national); and 3) Our county's future.

Scheduled speakers include Pastor Brian Gabbard (Seven Pines Pentecostal Church and chair of the Perfect Vision UNITE Coalition), UNITE Deputy Law Enforcemenet Director Paul Hays, School District Drug Counselor and UNITE Club Sponsor Neal Broadus, Desmond Peters (discussing elections), along with special comments from people currently in recovery.

As most people probably realize, drugs are destroying the lives of many of our citizens, especially the youth. Something has to be done in order to save these lives from the despair of addiction. We believe the first step is prayer.

"And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive." (Matthew 21:22)
