Keynote Address
"Making a Difference: UNITE Inspires Northeast Georgia Community" by Pastor Mike England, co-founder of the Tri-State Christian Center with his wife, DeDe, Morgantown, Georgia; and Judge Brenda S. Weaver, Chief Superior Court Judge in the Appalachian Judicial District, Jasper, Georgia. Think you aren’t making an impact? The UNITE model has been shared with communities throughout the nation ... and world! Fannin County in Northern Georgia has embraced and implemented the total concept. And they’ve done it without federal funding. Their first-ever march and rally in August 2006 drew nearly 3,000 people. This caught a lot of people’s attention and inspired others to get involved. In April, three surrounding counties held back-to-back rallies attracting approximately 8,000 folks. Their efforts were bolstered by Judge Weaver, who challenged all the churches to join the anti-drug efforts.
