Registration begins at 8 a.m. with each group to be registered 30 minutes before fishing time.
Fishing times are by age group: Ages 1-5, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.; ages 6-10, 10:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.; ages 11-15, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Free lunch for children under age 18 at 12:30 p.m. |

More than 450 people attended the first DAAD Wayne County Kid's Fishing Day in 2005. Over 59 local and regional sponsors maade it possible for all children to go home with a door prize, even if they did not win in their age group fishing category. This event is a great time for parents and grandparents to show our youth there are good healthy alternatives to the use of illegal substances. Food, fun and games for all in attendance. Prizes will be awarded for the top 3 in each age category plus door prizes.
2006 prize winners were:
Age 1-5 -- 1st place and biggest fish, Shawn McCartt; 2nd place, Colter Ferrell; 3rd place, Dylan Jones.
Age 6-10 -- 1st place, Mathew Young; 2nd place and biggest fish, William Chaplin; 3rd place, Kelsey Stringer.
Age 11-15 -- 1st place, Tyler Barber; 2nd place and biggest fish, Joe Kempton; 3rd place, Dustin Chaplin. |
