Event: Summer Fest 2007

Location: Court Square, downtown Barbourville (Knox County)
Cost: Free to attend
Sponsor: Knox County UNITE Coalition, Drug Free Communities Support Program, Commonwealth Alliance for Substance Abuse Prevention
Description:

Help keep Knox County drug-free by participating in this exciting summer program.

Activities will include a car show, live music, DJ sock hop and open mic, outdoor movie, play presentation, food, Corn Hole tournament, inflatables, rock climbing wall, fine and performing art, anti-drug surveys and presentations, sidewalk art, a Big Wheel race, Hula Hoop contest and more.

The "Cruizin' Barbourville Nights" Car Show begins with registration at 5 p.m., line-up at 5:30 p.m., a "Burger Burn" will be held at 6 p.m. and judging at 6:30 p.m. Classes include stock, custom, classic, crotchrocket, streetbike and other. Awards given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each class, poker run, best of show, most unusual, loudest sound system and loudest car. Following the awards at 8 p.m. there will be a poker run. Entry fee is $15.
