Event: Open at the Jam

Location: Grace Fellowship (old Weddington Theater) on Second Street in Pikeville
Cost: Free to the public; $25 entry fee for bands selected to compete

Description:

Entry Deadline - Bands wishing to participate must submit a sample of their music as well as a reference letter from their pastor by Friday, February 28, 2008, to Open at the Jam, July Jam, P.O. Box 363, Pikeville, KY 41502 or e-mail entries to info@julyjam.com.

Only Christian bands from the following counties will be considered: (Kentucky) - Bath, Bell, Breathitt, Clay, Estill, Floyd, Harlan, Jackson, Johnson, Knott, Knox, Laurel, Lawrence, Lee, Leslie, Letcher, Magoffin, Martin, McCreary, Menifee, Morgan, Owsley, Perry, Pike, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Rowan, Wayne, Whitley and Wolfe. (Virginia) - Buchanan, Dickenson, Lee and Wise. (West Virginia) - Mingo and Wayne. (Tennessee) - Campbell, Claiborne, Pickett and Scott.

Those bands chosen to compete for the chance to open at the July Jam, to be held Saturday, July 19, 2008, at the Eastern Kentucky Expo Center, will be notified by Sunday, March 16.

This year's July Jam features Christian recording artists StorySide B, Sanctus Real and Pillar.
